Programs & Services



ParentsCAN offers a wide variety of services free of charge to all families raising a child with special needs in Napa County. Services are tailored to meet the needs of each individual and family. Services generally include: one-on-one meetings with a trained parent advocate, information about, and referral to, other services for your child’s needs, support groups and trainings. The list below details some of the services we may provide to meet a family's needs. This list is not all inclusive. If you have a question or concern, or you need additional information, please call our office.

Early Intervention

For parents of infants and toddlers ages birth to 3 years who are diagnosed with, or may have, a disability or special healthcare need.
 

Healthcare Navigation

For parents of children and youth ages 0-22 with disabilities, significant medical or special healthcare needs.
 

Education

For parents of children ages 3-22 with learning challenges  and education/special education needs.
         

Behavioral Health Services

For parents of children with challenging behaviors or who are involved in the Juvenile Justice System.
 

Mental Health

For parents of children and youth 3-18 with emotional and mental health challenges.
 

Kincare Provider

For relative caregivers (including grandparents, siblings or aunts/uncles) who are raising a child with special needs.
         

Family Stability Project

For families of children with special needs who feel  isolated or are struggling to make ends meet.
 

Transition to Adult Life

For parents of youth ages 16 and up, helping their child prepare for life as an adult.
 

Navigating the Child Welfare System

For parents whose children have been removed from their physical custody by the Juvenile Court. (By referral from CWS Social Worker.)
         

Parent Leadership Training

For parents who want to give back, engage with the community and create change.

All ParentsCAN services are delivered through an evidence-based Parent to Parent Model. Parent to Parent programs provide emotional and informational support to families of children who have special needs by matching parents seeking support with an experienced, trained 'Support Parent'

As a Community Partner, ParentsCAN implements best practices as endorsed by Parent to Parent USA.
